Omaroo High Country Retreat - Pet friendly rural escape

A pleasant and tranquil place to stay, offering comfortable accommodations and a lovely pool. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. It is a dog-friendly property, which we appreciated, though it is worth planning ahead as the outdoor area accessible to dogs is not fully enclosed. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Quiet country break. Positive: Up a steep gravel road off Maroondah Highway a house sits with a wonderful view of the valley surrounding Lake Eildon. Tucked behind that is a spacious two bedroom cabin with a large porch. This was our escape from Melbourne for six nights in a cool December . Keren and Jon made us very welcome. We were there to relax and unwind. The bed was very comfortable, the country air was clean and dry and we slept well. . We enjoyed Mansfield a 20 minute drive away. Mansfields botanical gardens are large and beautiful, just the place to exercise your dog or kids. The best meal we had was at the Anvil. The produce store had good coffee. The fruit from the Saturday market was delicious. We enjoyed the large warm pool at Omaroo. Reading on the porch and our Cavoodle dog had a great time chasing a ball down the driveway. Negative: Spacious , quiet, pool.

Even better than a home away from home! Positive: Keren and Jon have thought of everything, such a great spot that feels very private. The hosts are friendly and very accomodating. There is a real sense of luxury even although it is a cozy space. It suited our needs for the week and made us wish we could have stayed longer!
